This dessert recipe is a lighter twist on the famous New Orleans dish - Bananas Foster. A perfect addition to any holiday menu!
INGREDIENTS:
4 each Bananas, very ripe, sliced medium thickness
2 T. Brown sugar
3 T. Meyer’s rum
½ tsp. Cinnamon
2 T. Pecans, chopped (optional)
PREPARATION:
- Preheat sauté pan on medium heat
- Add sliced bananas and brown sugar
- Once the bananas and brown sugar heat (and sugar dissolves), add the rum and cinnamon
- Let the rum reduce and stir occasionally
- Serve warm over low fat ice cream, whole wheat pancakes or H3 French toast
- If wanted, add pecans at the very end
