great but would like to see less salt and more hypertension awareness. many of us need to ditch the sugar AND the salt.
ReplyDeleteThis stuff is da bomb! LOVE IT! Thanks again, Chef Jen for all the great recipes and tips! BTW Allison, if you want less salt, then dont' add it in.. it's that simple. I made this in our cooking class - we used it as a spread for the turkey burgers. YUM!
ReplyDeleteAllison, since this is a spread, you will not be using much of it so I wouldn't worry about getting an overdose on sugar and salt. Just remember, everything in moderation. More than likely you will not even use the whole serving size, so this is a great option for giving the everyday bland turkey sandwich a kick!
ReplyDeleteHi Jen
ReplyDeleteHow long will this last in the fridge? Can I make the entire batch and freeze portions for use on sandwiches? Cooking for one over here :-)
Thanks
Hi Deborah! You can freeze portions of this as long as you of a little lime or lemon juice in it to prevent the turning of brown, then place in good quality plastic container with at least 1/2 inch space between the puree and the lid. It will expand a little bit. So glad you are enjoying it...it will last about 3 days in the fridge, when it turns brown it's okay but less desirable. Let me know what else I can do!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy!
