Hitting the Road Soon? – Downloadable Travel Routine

By: Adam Martin, H3 Fitness Director

The holiday travel season is upon us and I’m sure that you are searching through your H3 binder for a strength training solution while on the road.  Have no fear, Adam is here!  I have included a downloadable copy on this blog post that you can print out and keep in your luggage.  I suggest that you put it on top of your clothing rather than buried at the bottom.

You’ll notice that you need no weights, bands or machines to complete this full body strength training routine.  Therefore, NO EXCUSES!

Try completing this routine once per week while on the road in addition to frequent aerobic exercising like walking.  One time per week will prevent muscle atrophy and help you behaviorally transition back into your typical routine when you arrive home.

  1. After work yesterday, knowing that I wasn't going to make it to the gym due to an unexpected family obligation, I shut my office door, changed into some workout clothes I keep in my office and I did this workout! It isn't just great for travel, but also for those "uh-oh, plans changed" situations. Thanks Adam! Erik

  2. Hi Adam. Sad (or not) to say, yes I actually DID search for a strength training facility on my holiday trip to Fla. I found one. I'm not sure they will want me back. My first experience to a regular gym was rather pathetic, having no experience and totally spoiled by Hilton Head. Brought no towel, no lock, no shampoo, but lots of information about what and how I wanted to use the machines. (Sigh.........) Let's just say that both they and I are happy that you put this on line.

  3. Hey Erik - Great suggestion! That took some serious willpower to crank out a workout even when family obligations are bearing down on you. Keep it up!

Leslie - Hope you are having a wonderful time in Florida. I know you must be enjoying those ThermalWalks in that beautiful weather.
