H3 Recipe: Fudgy Brownies

Fudgy Brownie

A recipe you have all been waiting for - and I can promise it was worth it!  Fudgy, chocolate, moist and rich - yet less than 100 calories!  Even though these are low in calories - make sure you still practice moderation. 

Enjoy!

INGREDIENTS:

3/4 cup                       Flour

1/3 cup                       Cocoa powder, unsweetened

1/2 tsp.                       Baking powder

1/4 tsp.                       Salt

1/4 cup                       Semi-sweet mini baking morsels

2 T.                              Butter, unsalted

2 T.                              Cottage cheese, 1%, pureed

1 cup                          Sugar

1 T.                              Light chocolate syrup (Hershey’s)

2 tsp.                           Pure vanilla extract

1 each                        Egg

 PREPARATION:

  • Preheat oven to 350ºF.

  • In medium bowl, combine flour, salt, sugar, baking powder, and cocoa   powder.

  • In sauce pan melt butter and then add chocolate syrup.

  • In separate bowl, mix egg, vanilla, pureed cottage cheese, and butter   mix.

  • Mix the wet ingredients into the dry.  Mix will be very stiff.

  • Then place mix in bottom of lightly greased pan.

  • Top brownie mix with chocolate chip morsels.

  • Bake for about 15-20 minutes or just until the brownie slightly puffs up and an inserted toothpick comes out sticky.


Number of servings:  16

Serving size:  1/16th

H3 Recipe: Brownie Cookie Bites

During my 1:00 pm class today, a buzz was in the air....

News like this travels fast through the halls of H3 - Brownie Cookie Bites at the 2:00 pm demo!

So, I thought I would pass along these goodies to you - and maybe you can pass them on to your Valentine.

 

BROWNIE COOKIE BITES from H3 Chef C

These fudgy little treats are easy to make and taste as rick as any brownie.  Your challenge will be portion control...so what else is new?

 

Ingredients

- 1 cup unbleached white flour

- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda

- 1/4 cup unsalted butter

- 2/3 cup granulated sugar

- 1/3 cup cocoa powder

- 1/4 cup dark brown sugar, packed

- 1/4 cup buttermilk (or yogurt)

- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

- Non-stick cooking spray

- Powdered sugar

 

Preparation

- In a small bowl stir together flour and baking soda, reserve

- In a medium sauce pot, melt butter

- Stir sugar, cocoa and brown sugar into the melted butter

- Whisk in buttermilk (or yogurt) and vanilla

- Stir in flour mixture until just combined

- Chill for 1 hour

 - To Bake: drop by small teaspoon-ful onto a lightly spray-oiled baking sheet

- Bake at 350 degrees for 8 - 10 minutes

- Cool on racks

- Stack cool cookies on a platter and dust with powdered sugar

 

Yield: about 36 cookies

Sweet Tooth

You know when you have one of those weeks when all you can think about is CHOCOLATE!?!  Well for me, no matter the time or place, my sweet tooth was ACHING. 

If you have experienced this – you understand my pain.  My world revolved around satisfying that urge – and I wasn’t going to stop until I had my hands on that sweet little morsel! 

So, I am going to listen to my body (and stomach) and have a piece of chocolate…in moderation.  That way, I can go about my day and get the cocoa off the brain.

Lucky for me, I have my hands on the H3 Fudgy Brownie recipe, so I was able to savor the chocolate-y goodness!  Lucky for you, I am going to share the wealth. 

So here you go – the coveted H3 Fudgy Brownie!  (Just make sure to share!)

H3 Fudgy Brownies

Ingredients

¾ cup Flour

1/3 cup Cocoa Powder, unsweetened

½ tsp. Baking Powder

¼ tsp. Salt

¼ cup Semi-Sweet Mini Baking morsels

2 T. Butter

2 T. Cottage Cheese, 1 % pureed

1 cup Sugar

1 T. Lite Chocolate Syrup (Hershey’s)

2 tsp. Pure Vanilla Extract
